On 9.11.2021, the ceremonial opening of the OvGU's cooperation with the companies Google Cloud and Accenture took place, including numerous professional and motivating speeches. The goals are manifold. While on the one hand innovative business and application scenarios for cloud technologies are being researched, including topics such as event-based retailing and real-time campaign management in the retail sector, the second part of the initiative, the Cloud Academy, aims to provide high-quality education for the next generation of workers in this field.
The scope of the newly designed Open Enterprise Cloud Initiative became already apparent through the ensemble of high-ranking personalities. In addition to the Minister President of Saxony-Anhalt, Dr Reiner Haseloff, the Rector of Otto von Guericke University, Prof. Dr Jens Strackeljan, the Global Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Prof. Dr Alexander Zeier, and the Managing Director Intelligent Platform Services and SAP Business Group ASGR, Dirk Appelhoff, from Accenture, as well as the Director of Government Affairs & Public Policy for Germany, Eveline Metzen, and Partner Manager Achim Ramesohl from Google Cloud took part in the event. Prof. Dr. Klaus Turowski, scientific director of the university, completes the line-up of leading heads of the initiative.
