Following the motto "Changing Landscapes - Shaping Digital Transformation and its Impact" the international congress for business informatics will take place for the 15th time from 09.03-11.03.2020 in Potsdam. This year the MRCC is represented with two contributions.

Sascha Bosse presents the article "Effect of Carbon Taxes to Emissions and Costs of Data Centers", in which the effects of different CO2 tax levels on data centers are examined on the basis of 20 cases. The results reveal that a relevant CO2 tax of over €60 per tonne of CO2 emissions drives data center operators to select energy sources and hardware sustainably, in order to minimize costs.

Matthias Volk on the other hand, deals in his article "Towards a Decision Support System for Big Data Projects" with the conceptual development of a decision support system. By utilizing this solution, it should not only be possible to generally identify whether the use of Big Data makes sense for a given undertaking, but also which concrete technologies can be used. Further it is planned, in addition to the general recommendations, to generate concrete models for system architectures and also blank systems.
