Software configuration management is a software
engineering discipline with a crucial importance to the whole project and the
operation as well. This discipline is being implemented by a so-called software
configuration management system, which is used to structure and control work
products which have been developed during the software development process.
Configuration management as part of IT service management is widely disseminated
and topic of scientific discourse. However this is not the case with software
engineering as its counterpart in the area ofstandard business software. During
this master’s thesis requirements for software configuration management systems
shall be developed and prioritized. Finally an evaluation at the instance of
