The Business Informatics group represents the design- and engineering-oriented direction of this scientific discipline. Research and teaching are geared to establish and to communicate problem-solving competence. The business information specialist is regarded as a system designer whose systems make a significant contribution to the protection and the increase of a company's success. The object of design is made up by individual systems, and especially by integrated system landscapes. The term "system" not only refers to application software, but also to infrastructures including hardware and basic software.
